Starting at the beginning…

In the small town of King Williams Town in South Africa there once was a little girl who had a globe. She would often sit in her room and spin the globe, closing her eyes and pointing to a spot on the world to decide where she was going to travel to when she grew up.

This little girl was Tarryn.

When she finished high school she boarded a plane and took off to go explore the world. She wanted to travel to far off places, meet amazing people, learn about their culture, try their food and experience as much as she could of the world.

Not surprising it didn’t take long for her to pick up a camera to help document these places, people and things. The rest as they say is history as her career was born! Well maybe in the movies. In real life instead there has been a long and still continuing journey to discover her place in the world.

Tarryn has now visited over 50 countries around the world. She has received a Bachelor of Journalism specialising in photojournalism from Rhodes University and has forged out a career as a travel director and then as a production manager in film, tv and the gaming industry.

Tarryn sees photography as a way to learn, to share, to remember, to help. It is a tool that can be used to capture the imagination and emotions of its viewers and take them on an adventure. If along the way she can teach people, show them that different is not bad and help them understand the beauty of the world that needs our help to be protected, than even better.
